About the trip
A championship you can bring the whole school to: UDO splits dancers from U8 to U18 and beginner to advanced. Four competition days at Wunderland Kalkar against about 20 countries, plus Dusseldorf, Cologne and the Rhine.
Itinerary

Arrival in Dusseldorf and the Rhine
Flight from Tel Aviv to Dusseldorf, a walk through the Altstadt and along the Rhine promenade opposite the Rheinturm, then on to the Kalkar area.

First competition day
The championship opens at Wunderland Kalkar: check-in, warm-up and the first routines in front of the judges.

Second competition day
A full day of heats in the arena: solo, duo, trio and teams, by the organiser's running order.

Third competition day
Another day of heats, with rest time inside the self-contained Wunderland Kalkar resort between performances.

Finals and closing gala
The closing championship day: finals, battles and the gala with the award ceremonies.

Sightseeing day in Cologne
A full day in Cologne: the cathedral, the old quarter around the Fischmarkt and the Hohenzollern bridge over the Rhine.

Xanten morning and flight home
A last morning in Xanten, between the Roman archaeological park and St Victor's cathedral, then on to Dusseldorf airport.

Parents' FAQ
My child is not at a high competitive level. Is this right for them?
Yes. UDO runs a level ladder from beginner to advanced and age divisions from U8 to U18. Every dancer takes the stage against dancers of their own age and level, which is why a school can bring its whole roster.
Which styles are danced at this championship?
Street and urban only: hip-hop, breaking, commercial and all street styles. Formats include solo, duo, trio, team, battles and supercrew. If the school dances jazz, ballet or show dance, we will gladly suggest a different event.
What do the children do when they are not on stage?
The running order is split by age, style and level, so no dancer is on stage all day. Between heats the group stays to watch and cheer, and the hotel is close enough to go back and rest. The arrival and departure days are sightseeing days, and after the competition there is a full day in Cologne.
I want to come and watch my child compete. Can I join?
Absolutely, and many parents do. Entry to the arena is with a spectator pass bought in advance through the organiser, and we arrange it together with the group's registration. Parents travelling with the group get the same flight, the same hotel and the same transfers.
