Parents' FAQ
Can I join the trip as a parent?
Yes. The festival lets accompanying parents join as non-competing participants, sit in the hall, stay in the same hotel and join the tours. Places for accompanying adults close together with the group's registration, so tell the school early.
Which category will my child compete in?
The contest is split by genre and by age. There are separate categories for classical ballet, folk, modern and jazz-modern, hip hop and street dance, ballroom and variety dance. Age brackets include 13-15 and 16-19, and for an ensemble of five dancers or more the category is set by the group's average age.
The trip runs over Pesach and the competition days include Shabbat. What does that mean?
We want this clear up front: the competition days run from 23 to 26 April, and the main competition day falls on Shabbat. The trip therefore suits a secular school. Meals are an Italian half board buffet, and we raise Pesach kashrut with the organisers already at the registration stage and tell you exactly what was agreed.
How do we stay in touch with the children during the trip?
We open a parents' WhatsApp group with a daily update and photos from the day. Our escort's phone is available to you throughout the trip. Evenings are at the hotel, which is the easy time for the children to call home.
