About the trip
The group takes an open-air stage in an Ohrid square, in front of a real audience, not an empty hall. Around it: six nights on Lake Ohrid and touring days to Sveti Naum, Bitola and Matka Canyon.
Itinerary

Flight to Skopje, on to Ohrid
Flight from Tel Aviv to Skopje, then the group's private coach to Ohrid and check-in at the hotel by the lake.

Old Ohrid and the festival opening
A guided morning in the old town, including the church of St. John at Kaneo and Tsar Samuel's Fortress, and in the evening the festival opens in the squares.

The group's performance day
Warm-up and a run-through in the morning, then the open-air stage in the square in front of an audience.

Sveti Naum and a festival day
A drive along the lake shore to the Sveti Naum monastery and the springs beside it, back into town for the afternoon performances.

Guided time in the old market and along the lakefront promenade, then the closing performances of all the groups in the squares.

A guided day in Bitola
A guided day in Bitola: the Shirok Sokak boulevard and the Roman site of Heraclea Lyncestis beside it.

Matka Canyon and the flight home

Parents' FAQ
What is the weather like in Ohrid at the end of March, and what should we pack?
Late March in Ohrid is early spring: pleasant by day, cool in the evening by the lake. Pack layers, a light rain jacket and comfortable shoes for cobbled streets. A full packing list goes out to parents before departure.
My daughter has never performed abroad. What actually happens there?
The performances are on open-air stages in Ohrid's squares, in front of a real audience rather than an empty hall. There is warm-up and run-through time before going on stage, and groups from other countries perform alongside ours. The organiser sets the exact schedule close to the dates, and we pass it on to the teacher and the parents as soon as it arrives.
How are rooms allocated, and what about food?
Rooming is worked out with the teacher before departure, grouping dancers of the same age. Accommodation is half board, meaning breakfast and dinner every day. If there is an allergy or a dietary need, tell us at registration and we arrange it with the hotel in advance.
Who supervises the girls, and how do we stay in touch with them?
Alongside the school's staff, an Art Travel escort travels with them and stays with the group from the airport until landing back home. The group always moves together on our own private coach, with no public transport and no splitting up. We open a parents' WhatsApp group with a daily update and photos, and there is a phone number reachable throughout the trip.
