About the trip
The ROOKIE division of M.O.D. Mallorca is built for crews competing abroad for the first time. No federation, no qualifier. Six nights in Palma: an international stage, a workshop day, the Tramuntana mountains and the sea.

Flight to Palma, arrival at the hotel
Group flight from Tel Aviv to Palma de Mallorca, transfer to the hotel and an opening evening on the Paseo Maritimo.

Old Palma and rehearsals
Guided tour of La Seu cathedral, the Almudaina Palace and Bellver Castle, with rehearsals in the afternoon.

Competition day, ROOKIE division
The crew takes the Palma Auditorium stage in the ROOKIE division, before international judges and crews from across Europe.

Playa de Palma and MASTER day
A morning at Playa de Palma beach, then the competition's MASTER day with its leading crews.

Workshop and masterclass day
Workshops and masterclasses in hip hop, house, locking and popping, with the Mercat de l'Olivar in the evening.

Tramuntana mountains and Soller
A touring day in Valldemossa and its Carthusian monastery, on to Soller and the wooden tram to Port de Soller.

Last morning and flight home
A last morning at the Mercat de Santa Catalina and the Palma marina, then a transfer to the airport and the flight to Tel Aviv.

Parents' FAQ
My daughter is fourteen, who is she competing against?
The ROOKIE division has a junior band up to fifteen and a youth band up to eighteen. The crew is entered in the band that matches its make up. We confirm the placement with the organizers in advance.
Can we as parents come and watch the competition?
Absolutely. Spectator tickets are sold on the Auditorium website, separately for each competition day, and they are not part of the crew's package. The dancers themselves go on for their own turn without a ticket.
I hear the competition days finish late, how do the kids get back to the hotel?
That is exactly why we chose a hotel a short walk from the Auditorium. The group walks back together with the escort and the school's own staff. The morning after is built to be an easy one.
Which dance styles fit this competition?
The ROOKIE division is urban only: hip hop, house, locking, popping, vogueing, breaking, krumping, dancehall and commercial. A repertoire of modern, jazz or ballet does not fit this track. We say so up front rather than after registration.
